Born in Bristol on the 16th June 1943, Barbara studied Nursery Nursing and from here she developed a love for the care of children. At the age of 21 she married Kenneth Forsey after they had meet at a New Year’s party.  A caravan expedition to Europe found them exploring new countries and new cuisines.  In 1974 they moved to South Africa with husband Ken and children Stephen and Kim. The voyage was undertaken on the RMS Windsor Castle passenger and cargo liner which took 12 days. She was a born adventurer at heart and would delight in telling stories to people of their African experience. In 1980 Leigh was born, and later in 1982 the family immigrated to Perth, Australia. Barbara took up a position at Catherine McAuley Centre, run by the Sisters of Mercy, looking after children in care. She continued her adventures travelling the world and touching the hearts of all those that heard her youthful laugh and mischievious humour.
