Community involvement is an important part of our commitment to being ‘the leaders in funeral service’. Educational talks are offered to all areas of the community, from sporting clubs to nursing homes and self-help organisations. Assistance to charitable groups, such as Optometry Aid Overseas, has meant we have collected hundreds of pairs of optical glasses and hearing aids to be sent on to developing countries.

We also offer sponsorships to various groups within the community. These sponsorships may assist in research or support worthwhile projects, which benefit the whole community.

Offering support where we can to areas such as health, youth, employment, multiculturalism and the environment, is integral to the ethics of our family and business.

Bowra & O’Dea is focused on doing our bit for the environment, by ensuring we recycle any plastics used in our day to day business, as well as staff contributing their own plastics. We aim to reduce plastic pollution and give plastic waste a new life by taking plastic bottles that are accepted to the Containers for Change programme depots. Together we hope to create a greener future especially in WA.

We passionately support organisations such as The W.A Breast Cancer Foundation and The W.A Deaf Society, both of whom do amazing work within the community. Bowra & O’Dea are proud to play a role in ensuring their great work continues.

We believe it is essential to support the youth of our community too and sponsor ‘Youth of Australia’ and events like ‘World Youth Day’.

We also know that sports and recreation are integral to a healthy and happy community and Bowra & O’Dea feel privileged to be part of many local bowling, golfing and recreation clubs, as well as events such as the annual ‘City to Surf’ fun run.

"We were very satisfied with all aspects of your service. We had to postpone the funeral on the day, due to circumstances out of our control and Bowra & O'Dea were very accommodating and took care of all the rearrangements. We are very grateful."
