Burial, Cremation or Entombment?

Burial

The coffin or casket is buried in a grave at a cemetery.

Cremation

The cremation takes place in a crematorium chapel with the ashes made available to the family for memorialisation or scattering.

Entombment

The casket is sealed in an above ground crypt in a mausoleum.

Funeral Service

Standard Funeral Service

After a service at a Bowra & O’Dea chapel, church or other venue, a second service, burial, entombment or cremation is held at the cemetery.

Single Service Funeral – Church or other venue

A service is held at a church, Bowra & O’Dea chapel or other venue, with no attendance at the cemetery or crematorium.

Single Service Funeral – Cemetery

A burial or cremation service held at the cemetery only.

Single Service Funeral - With Procession

Leaving the residence, the funeral proceeds to either a Bowra & O'Dea chapel service or a church service, with no attendance at the cemetery/crematorium or leaving the funeral home or residence, the funeral proceeds to a cemetery for either burial or cremation.

Other

Providing permission from the appropriate local authority is gained, a funeral service can be held at almost any place.
