Para-swimming prodigy
With the potential to become one of Australia’s Para-swimming legends this is the Inspiring Story of Ben Popham. At seven years old, Popham, who has diplegic cerebral palsy, was presented with the option of para-swimming by his physiotherapist. He spent the next 10-years dedicating himself to earning a spot on the Australian Para-swimming team.
Popham’s dedication to swimming has paid off with dual gold medals at the Pan Pacific Para-swimming Championships and gold at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Ben’s achievements extend beyond the pool, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce at Curtin University to complete his degree after the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
