Danny Green, a former Australian professional boxer known as “The Green Machine”, hailing from Scarborough in Perth, Western Australia, was a surfer before leaving school to pursue a career in carpentry. However, he found his true calling in boxing, and with diligent training, he became a formidable fighter known for his power, intent, and instincts.
Starting his professional career in 2001, Green quickly became a crowd favourite, winning four professional boxing world titles. Green was known for his fierce rivalry with fellow Australian boxer Anthony Mundine, facing off two times, breaking pay-per-view records in Australia.
Aside from his boxing career, Green is also well-known for his charitable work, including The Danny Green Stop the Coward Punch Campaign, which aims to eliminate those moments where a punch thrown in anger changes countless lives.
Throughout his career, Green’s achievements as a fighter and philanthropist have left an indelible mark on Australian sports and society.
