Nilesh Makwana’s Inspiring Story
A classic migrant success story.
WA migrant Nilesh Makwana, an Indian-Australian social impact entrepreneur, recalls his early education in the schoolyard and on the streets in his hometown of Rajkot in India.
His entrepreneurial career began at 7 years old, selling glow-in-the-dark stickers and cycling through the streets selling toasted sandwich-makers and mixers to residents.
Today Makwana is the chief executive and co-founder of Perth-based Illuminance Solutions – an award-winning Microsoft gold partner business. The aim is to bridge the gap between technology and people living with a disability. Travelling the world, Makwana developed a passion for diversity advocacy – embedded in the culture of his business.
Nilesh Makwana’s first book, Terminal 4 – An Entrepreneur’s Journey from Bicycle to Business Class, paints the story of his fascinating life as an entrepreneur and his dream for diversity.
