Role Model of the Game 2023

Inspiring Members of the WA Community
We love to share the Inspiring Stories of Australian Athletes and public figures, but now we want to celebrate the everyday heroes and role models in our community.
Together with the Perth Wildcats an inspiring WA community members will be recognised on the big screen at the game, having kicked off with our first two heroes.
Maria Waton

We celebrate Maria Waton, a breast care nurse who has made a profound impact on countless lives with over a decade of work as part of the Breast Cancer Care WA family and having experienced breast cancer herself.
Maria’s dedication to educating and mentoring extends beyond the clinic with her advocacy for breast awareness and early detection. Delivering insightful presentations to community groups and corporate audiences, Maria is sharing her expertise far and wide.
Maria is honoured as a true inspiration in breast cancer care. Her selfless dedication, tireless advocacy, and boundless compassion have touched countless lives, leaving an enduring legacy of hope and support.
Thank you Maria, for your extraordinary contribution and commitment to our breast cancer community.
