From Country to Cricket.
At just over 2m tall, Simon Mackin is making waves in the cricketing world. Best known for his right-arm quick, this country boy from Tammin has worked his way up to play first-class matches for WA. Being raised in the country Simon managed to play a lot of sport growing up, and enjoys getting back to his family’s farm in the off season where the community spirit keeps him grounded and busy. Since his debut in Alice Springs in 2013 he has managed to play numerous first class games and bring home some great wins for WA. Looking forward he wants to bring in more wins for WA and plans on pushing to bring home the Sheffield Shield. Mackin has a strong career ahead of him, and is looking forward to a big season of cricket this summer….and it’s set to be a scorcher!
