A walk to remember
The Compassionate Friends is a charitable organization providing support and care for bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents across the globe. On the 18th Of March 2023, the Mandurah chapter of The Compassionate Friends held their annual Walk to Remember. The event aims to raise awareness and funds for the services provided by volunteers of The Compassionate Friends.
Bowra & O’Dea is a proud sponsor of A Walk to Remember, with Garry Russell, our Mandurah branch manager, participating in the walk. Garry spoke about the impact the volunteers and community had on him. “It was a touching experience to walk with those that had lost a loved child, some recently but others many years ago. I was speaking to one of the mothers whose child died 10 years ago. Compassionate Friends helped her at the time, and continue to help her come to terms with the tragedy. She walks every year and it is a truly significant event for her.”
The Walk to Remember is an opportunity for bereaved families to come together, remember their loved ones, and find comfort and support from others who have experienced similar losses. The dedication and commitment of volunteers and participants make events like these possible, and they play an essential role in providing comfort and support to those who have experienced loss.
