Dear cousins,I was with you from faraway Canada on July 11, at night, thanks to the technology (thank you so much for arranging it) to say farewell to Tonton.I prayed, I cried, I laughed, and I remembered. Let me share a souvenir from my first stay in Perth. I was alone at the farm when someone asked for Harry on the phone. Di, Tony, Angie, Pierre and Rob will remember that my English was a bit iffy at the time. So I was relieved to say there was nobody of that name here and hay that I wouldn’t have to take a message. But at supper time, Tonton complained that someone didn’t call him as promised to give him some info and I had a sudden doubt. Me: Tonton, what do the call you here? Tonton: Harry. Erminio is too difficult to pronounce. Me: He did call you. Tonton and Auntie Maria had a great laugh. I am laughing now, but I was too embarrassed at the time!It was a great ceremony and you did a fantastic job with the choice of prayers, of music and of pictures. It was very moving the see the grand children and great grand children participate. We could be the love and the emotions. As for the eulogy, Pierre and Rob, you were fantastic. I know from experience how hard it is to speak at your father’s funeral. I wish I could have been there to give you a big hug.I am also sending Mom’s love. She misses her big brother so. I’ll do my best to translate the ceremony for her.
