James Doyle

Remembering my dear Uncle Jimmy, who was also my godfather.

Although we lived far apart for much of our lives, I have such fond memories of the time I spent in Australia as a child. I remember Uncle Jimmy as a kind and gentle man who loved his family, his garden, his garlic, a good game of cards, and living along the beautiful Swan River.

One of my favorite childhood memories is when our family went over to Uncle Jimmy's house in the middle of the night to see Halley's Comet. I remember us all standing outside, looking up at the night sky. It was such an exciting experience as a child and one of those memories that has stayed with me all these years.

Although distance kept us apart over the years, I will always remember Uncle Jimmy with great fondness and feel grateful for the memories I have of him.

Sending my love and deepest sympathy to Auntie Teresa, Tim, Paddy, Johnny, James, and all the family. May Uncle Jimmy rest in peace. ❤️

Sincere condolences to the Doyle Family on the passing of Jim. May he Rest in Peace. Best wishes, the O'Connor Family, Croneyhorn, Carnew, Ireland.

In loving memory of my dear, sweet, kind, and loving Brother James (Jim) Doyle. formally Raheenakit & Ballunultagh, Shillelagh, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. "Jim had a rare gift for making everyone feel valued." Nothing mattered more to him than his family. "The love he held for his beautiful wife Teresa, his four incredible boys, his grandchildren, his extended family, and his friends cannot be measured, and his legacy will live on through them." Jim gave everything he had to those he loved. Every single one of us is better for having been a part of his world." "He was our rock, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him." "Of all the memories he carried from his childhood, none were as deeply woven into his heart as the daily journey walking to and from school. Every morning and afternoon, his legs would tackle the Bernie"- the massive sprawling hill that stood like a grand sentinel right next to his childhood home. The hill felt like a mountain. It was the setting for his fondest childhood adventure, and it engraved a deep sense of comfort in his heart. He told me many times about the night I was born, and how he had to walk all the way from Raheenakit, our home, to Croneyhorn at 2 AM in the morning to my cousin Peter Doyle's house to get him to drive my Mom to the hospital. He was just a little boy of 9 years old, and so brave to do this on his own. His memories of his love for Ireland and Australia were both uniquely shared in his stories. It is comforting to know you are up there in heaven now- dancing, singing with our Mom and Dad, sister Eileen, and our brothers Mick and Hugh, and listening to Slim Dusty's Pub With No Beer and Jim Reeves' Bimbo." Rest in Peace Jim. May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. The rains fall soft upon your face; And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand."Be free, be strong, be proud of who you have been, know that you will be loved and missed, and no one can ever replace you. A true Brother gone too soon. We love you, Jim. Your loving Sister Ann, husband Dermot, and all the Doyle Family in Chicago.xoxo
